Tutoring

– Creative thinking is a skill, a certain amount of tools you can learn and apply to your daily life. Creative expression is one of our not technically basic, but very important needs. In my tutoring I set a goal not to teach a child a couple of melodies, or just to draw something and move on, which of course is a part of the process. I set a goal to give them the tools and knowledge to express themself, understand their natural artistic abilities, so later in life they could implement and use it.

Q&A

Why not German?

It’s my “principium”. I moved to Austria only 3 years ago. And though my level of language is enough for daily communication, manual labor or even studying, I strongly believe that educational process is a multi-facade process that is not only about the subject itself, but also the way this subject is being communicated. Tutor must be an example. And because Russian and English (which both I’ve been spoken since childhood) are the only two languages I can fully, fluently and freely arrange my thoughts in yet, I choose to give lessons on this two. And I hope to add German there in a couple of years.

Do we need our own material? Is experience necessary?

Though it would be nice to have your own piano, colors, pens and paper, it’s not a per-requirement, furthermore materials are included in price :). Experience is not required.

Groups or individual?

I offer individual lessons at the moment. If you have siblings, I can work with a group of 2-3 children (or yes, individually with both of them).

It’s a concept I’m not familiar with. What exactly will my child do during the lesson?

It all may sound too abstract and “artistic”. Don’t worry. I’m a partly classically trained visual artist and musician myself. Fundamental knowledge in music theory, color theory, visual composition, etc., as well as hard skills to apply this knowledge are a part of the lessons. But as someone who developed an ability to actually do an art work (which I would call any reality expression/mirroring using any given material with intention) almost by myself, I enjoy giving this soft skill to someone else. Collective objective beauty does exist. And touching it with your subjectivity is a gift you can learn.

Good, one more question…

You can send a question in a “leave you info” section above and I would be happy to answer it! /Best, Alek
